Home and Away Kits Available to Order (Australia only)

This season's home kit is now available to pre-order, and as a result, we will be placing our own order for both the Home and Away kit.

We'd prefer PayPal, as it's just a lot easier to keep track of, but you can drop us a bank transfer if need be. To ensure that they arrive as quickly as possible — hopefully before the first match of the season — we will be placing the order as soon as the home kit is available for general purchase.

Please
ensure you know your size, and inform me of it. I can't refund or exchange, I'm sorry.

All orders must be made and paid for by midnight Friday 6 August.

The cost for the kits is listed at £45 for short sleeve, and £50 for long sleeve. Thus, they will be priced at $80 and $90 respectively, inclusive of all postage and handling.

To order a shirt, please head to the Lesson In Pride Shop.

New Manchester City Away Kit Pic

Now available at the Umbro shop here.

First impressions I guess are: "is that it?". It doesn't appear in this photo, but the kit features the same mini scarf on the inside collar as the home kit, which is probably it's best feature.

It's to be worn with navy shorts, and sky blue/navy hooped socks, New South Wales-style.

It's a fantastic looking shirt, but it just doesn't say "City" to me. Won't stop me buying one though.

Here's one thing I will definitely be getting though, and that's the "Mercer" jacket. A classic design, named after one of our heroes from yesteryear.

Of course, as soon as any of these become available, you can order it from the club or even better, through us.

What are your thoughts?

City's Ever-Changing New Kit

The main criticism of the new home kit is the simple fact that we have one! It's the fifth new shirt in as many years, and when you include all the changes to away and third kit too (there were nine different kits used in the three seasons before this one), it becomes an expensive exercise at the beginning of each season.

From top-left: This seasons new kit, 2009-10 home kit, 2008-09 home kit, 2007-08 home kit, 2006-07 home kit, 2004-06 home kit...

The last time we used a home kit for consecutive seasons was back in 2004-05 and 2005-06. Isn't this something we used to take the piss out of the Rags for?

Hopefully, Umbro can use common sense and announce that this one will be in for a while. I mean, how many times can you improve on a sky blue and white shirt?

New Manchester City Home Kit Leaked?

This is most likely what the boys will be wearing in the 2010-11 Premier League and Europa League campaign. Out of all the mock-ups and fake kits, this appears to be the most genuine, and I'm almost certain this is the real deal.

Whilst similar to last year's kit, there are a few minor changes. The white crew neck is gone, replaced by a blue collar, and the shirt now has white cuffs... but my favourite change is the one that you won't be able to see when you're wearing it — the miniature City scarf at the back of the neck.

I didn't think they were able to improve on last season's kit, but on this occasion, I think Umbro have outdone themselves.

Don't forget, we will be placing an order for the kit when it's released, so if you're in Australia and you want to save a couple of bucks, get in contact.

Mancini bar scarves available

Ever wanted to be a successful Manchester City manager? You need a few things, such as tactical nous, a slightly greying windswept bouffant, the ability to fit the phrase "very important" into every sentence, and a cool looking scarf.

You can get one step closer, with the 'Mancini bar scarf', available soon on the Official Site. I don't know how practical it will be to wear a scarf considering it's well over 30 degrees at the moment, but hey.

Besides, I was rocking this look back as early as November — if anything he stole it off me!

They will retail at £8 each (rip-off), but if you want to get one, grab some other gear as well because of the £15 postage (bigger rip-off). If enough people want one, I can do a bulk order to save cash.

Third Kit details released — order through Sydney Blues

It was confirmed earlier in the week that this Sunday's clash with Portsmouth will see the debut of this seasons' third kit. City have today released a clearer photo of the new shirt and details about how to get it. You can view that story here.

The kit will be available to pre-order from Friday, 4 September and will go on general sale from Saturday, 26 September.

I think I cracked a semi looking at that photo, and believe me, it wasn't because of Robi's alluring gaze... That shirt is absolutely breath-taking.

Just like the home kit before it, I will be taking orders for the third kit, as well as any orders for the home or away kits. All shirts will be priced at $80 each, not inclusive of postage or PayPal fees if you choose to pay in this way.

I've had to increase the postage cost to $8 per lot this time, as I will be using registered post only. Australia Post managed to lose of the kits from the last order, and point blank refused to help locate it. So if you see a Postie wearing the home shirt, ask him where he got it from... This meant I had pay for a replacement shirt out of my own pocket, and I don't think that's entirely fair, considering I'm trying to do everyone a favour.

Paypal also attracts a $2 fee, due to the fact they are rip-off merchants. Alternatively, I accept electronic fund transfers and cold-hard cash.

When contacting me, I will need the following from you:
Name
Address
Home, Away, or Third kit
Shirt Size
Short or long sleeves (remember $11 will be added for long sleeves)
Posted or not ($8 for postage of up to three shirts)
For those that placed an order for the away kit or exchanged sizes... I'm still waiting for those to arrive. The club has dispatched them though, so you should receive them by next Friday at the latest.

I will most likely pre-order a couple of days before it actually goes on sale, so I'm going to set the deadlines at Thursday, 17 September for expressions of interest, and I must have the money in my account by Tuesday, 22 September.

As you can see I've had enough trouble with Australia Post and the Club shop as it is... please make it easier on me by ordering and paying sooner, rather than later.

Manchester City v Blackburn Live Screening Update

Just a few things to go over before Saturday night's massive season opener.

The early kick-off is Chelsea v Hull at 9:45pm. Yeah I know, probably could have picked a better game to start, but if you want to see plenty of goals it should be quite entertaining. I'll most likely be there from 9:00 to play a couple of games of pool and to get a good spot, so feel free to drop by anytime from then.

There are six midnight kick-offs, however Blackburn v City is the main event! There's nothing worse than watching at a pub and the staff refuse to change the channel using the red button arrangement in case it will piss off the Rag fans watching. It's the default game on Fox Sports 3, and as a result the game will be shown in the downstairs amphitheatre, shown in the photo below.

I will also be accepting orders for both home and away kits his week, as I will be sending a few items back on Monday. So payment must be in by then. Alternatively, you can order and pay cash on the night if you prefer to do it that way.

So if you would like to order a kit, please do so on the Saturday for approximately $80 and leave your contact details if I don't have them already. I should warn however, no responsibility is taken by myself if this payment ends up in "Where's The Gold" instead...

Judging by the response the Facebook event has generated, it looks like there will be a few first-timers to Cheers on Saturday. If you like Manchester City, meeting new people, or singing and yelling at a television screen, you'll have a blast.

Away Kit now availabe for pre-order

I'm not sure if the demand is there for another batch, but if enough people are keen, I am willing to place an order for the Away kit as well. I can also order more Home shirts and exchange any problem orders if required.

If not, there will definitely be a bulk order placed for the Limited-Edition Third kit in October.

The black shirt looks pretty damn sweet in any case...

Any problems, let me know as soon as possible.

They're Here!

This morning was very much like Christmas morning, except for the fact Santa came by Australia Post van. Our new kits have arrived!

They are absolutely fantastic. The texture on the inside is what you'd expect from a football shirt, a kind of breathable mesh. But the outside has the feel of a fine cotton t-shirt. The badge is embroidered with the finest detail. It really is brilliant.

So I should be posting these over the next couple of days, so they'll arrive by Thursday at the latest. If there is an issue with sizing, let me know as soon as possible, although everything should be in order.

When the third kit is released in October, we'll do another bulk lot then if everyone is keen. Thanks to all brave enough to trust me with their money...

Home Kit pre-orders... Who's in?

According to the Official Site, the new home shirt will be available to pre-order from 9am (6pm here) on 1 July. The new adult shirt will retail at £36 for Seasoncard holders and £38 for Citycard members. Non-card holders can purchase it for £40. Add on £5 for long sleeves.

As mentioned in an earlier post, shipping to Australia for the kit will be a somewhat ludicrous £15 each (over $32AU). So once you've paid for the shirt and postage, you are looking at approximately $112 for a home shirt. And even then, there's no guarantee that it will fit...

Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea if all the Aussie Blues could pitch in to reduce to cost a bit. I knew it'd be cheaper, but to be honest I didn't think the savings would be as great as this:

Purchasing the kit individually
+ £40 for the home shirt
+ £15 for postage and handling
= £55 total, approximately $112.50AU.

Purchasing the kit in bulk
+ £36 for the home shirt, using my Seasoncard
+ £2.5o postage from UK, if the £15 is split across for instance, six ways (could be even less depending on orders)
+ £2.5o for me to pop it in an Australia Post satchel when it arrives ($6AU)
= £41 total, approximately $85AU.

That's a saving of almost $30, and you will save more for every person that gets involved. There's a further discount if you elect to pick it up from me personally at Cheers.

Be very wary when choosing your size. Not only are the sizes changed from the standard S-M-L to a chest measurement, they are apparently a slimmer, more tailored fit — unlike last year's tent-like kit. Please consult the Umbro guide to determine your approximate shirt size:

Also note that I can't accept orders for names and numbers — it is impossible to exchange the shirt if it's the wrong size or does not fit, and also we have no idea who will be wearing what number until closer to the season.

So, if you're interested, please get in contact with me in the variety of ways listed on the right hand side, preferably email. All expressions of interest should be placed by 8 July. I will get back to you with a quote after this date. Payment must be in my possession (ie. I have the funds) by 15 July. So please be organised and work it out before this date.

When contacting me, I will need the following from you:
Name
Address
Shirt Size
Short or long sleeves (remember $11 will be added for long sleeves)
Posted or not ($6 will be deducted if you elect to pick it up from Cheers)
Hope to hear from you soon, remember the more the merrier (and cheaper!)

New Kits!

Firstly, welcome everyone to the new location of Sydney Manchester City supporters on t'internet. Please check regularly for information about public screenings and other news about the club. There are thousands of other places on the internet that do news and opinion... I'm not going to try and replicate that. It will be a City blog, but more relevant to those of us in Australia.

Firstly, the new kits have been released for 2009-10 and they are absolutely fantastic.

The quality really looks to be second to none.

However, this comes at a price, with the new kits expected to be priced at £40. Whack on the £15 for postage to Australia and it becomes and expensive exercise, especially as they are being released on seperate dates. Although, we don't have to pay VAT on the goods, so it's swings and roundabouts there.

The home kit is available on 18 July, with preorders taken from 1 July.
The away kit (black) is available in August.
The third kit is available in October.

It might be in our best interests to do a bulk order to save a bit on postage, but we'll work on that closer to the date.
